We are really proud to be able to say that ACM and Metropolis have worked with nearly all of the BRIT 2018 winners.
Congratulations to all of the winners from this year’s awards ceremony!
We were delighted to see our student and first ever recipient of the Skunk Anansie Scholarship Cyreez Lewis perform alongside Justin Timberlake! It was great to see many alumni recognised for their hard-work and dedication to the music industry through the nominations and winners at 2018’s ceremony.
“I am so proud of our first ever Scholarship recipient Cyreez for his impeccable performance at this year’s BRIT Awards, not to mention Tyrell Trey featuring alongside Stormzy! To have this experience whilst they’re still studying for their degrees is absolutely fantastic and will certainly open more doors to success in the future. It was amazing to see so many of our alumni featured too.”

Double BRIT winner Dua Lipa (Best Female Solo Artist & British Breakthrough) and winners of the Best British group, Gorillaz both had their nominated works mastered by Metropolis Mastering engineer John Davis. Ed Sheeran picked up the Global Success Award and quite rightly so… a certain album ‘÷’ was mastered at Metropolis by Stuart Hawkes.
Rag ‘N’ Bone Man picked up British Single for his hit ‘Human’. The singer-songwriter – developed by alumnus Mark Crew, founder of production label Best Laid Plans – also enlists alumnus Ben Thomas behind the kit. They sure did smash their rather fiery performance of ‘Skin’ with Jorja Smith.
As well as this, ACM Bass tutor Sandy Beales has played with One Direction members and winner of Video of the Year, Harry Styles. Critics Choice winner Jorja Smith recently recorded a couple of tracks at Metropolis for the Spotify Singles sessions.
On top of the outstanding success mentioned above at this year’s BRIT awards, our sister company Metropolis Studios also made a great impact on the nominations list with; Dua Lipa, Ed Sheeran, Gorillaz, Jessie Ware, The xx, J Hus, The Killers, Jax Jones ft. RAYE and Anne-Marie’s work all being mastered at the Power House, alongside Rag’n’Bone Man, Paloma Faith and Loyle Carner having been mixed there. Grammy Award winning Metropolis engineer Liam Nolan also recognised for his work on Clean Bandit ft. Zara Larsson’s ‘Symphony’ which was also mastered at the legendary studio.
