As part of our of learning-by-doing ethos, ACM combines real-world opportunities with every-day education. Our academy presents itself as a mini creative hub experienced through a range of inspiring music courses; a safe space for artistic exploration and development before our students graduate and enter the professional world full-time. Recently, some of our very talented performers got the chance to demonstrate their skill in front of top industry executives at the DECCA auditions.

DECCA Records is a British record label established in 1929 by Edward Lewis, and it’s home to some of the industry’s top creative minds including Seal, Jeff Goldblum, Gregory Porter and Alexandra Burke. A chance to audition for a spot within DECCA’s fine selection of signed artists is something that most musicians can only dream of, however for ACM’s students, the opportunity to prove themselves worthy of the position is a much more attainable prospect.

Through ACM’s Industry Link team and its distinguished industry connections, students are able to experience a range of educational and intrinsic events from auditions to conferences, such as the recent BBC Introducing Live weekender where our students attended a variety of discussions hosted by some of the business’s most notable professionals and artists.

“It was the perfect opportunity for our students to showcase their talents in front of the biggest labels in the music industry. The guys from DECCA were great and really keen to see what ACM had to offer, they gave constructive criticism and points for development to all the acts that got to audition. It’s this sort of event that provides ACM students with real life learning opportunities and development from professionals in the industry. The day overall was a success, DECCA and Industry Link are currently working on another audition date as demand was so high. So keep your eyes peeled!”
